Saint Ana’s Chapel - Anindol
The most famous Samobor chapel thanks to popular song called “Kod kapele svete Ane”.
This chapel became the most famous Samobor chapel thanks to the song called “Kod kapele svete Ane” (“Near Saint Ana’s chapel”) written in 1937 by a young Marko Vukasović who described it as a place of meeting socializing. It is located in the peaceful Tepec forest and once a year it is visited by a huge number of people for a kermesse festival on Saint Anne’s Day.
This church is the youngest of all Samobor Baroque churches because it is mentioned for the first time in 1677, but it is assumed that the works on its erection started even earlier. The official year inscribed behind the main altar and on the bell is 1751, and we believe that the counts Auersperg paid for its construction. The chapel has got 3 altars ornamented with Baroque paintings from the 18th century and has been renovated a number of times and is in the second category of listed heritage.
